Answer;

Powerful nations around the globe such as the United States, Japan, Russia, Germany, and China will live to remember effects of the Cold War. It was referred to as “cold” because the military and political tension did not involve direct large-scale fighting between the Western Bloc and the Eastern Bloc[1]. The Western Bloc included the United States and Nato allies while the eastern Bloc included the Soviet Union and its Warsaw Pact. The war left the United States and the USSR the two super powers when Germany spilt from wartime alliance. The outcome of the Cold War elevated the need of the world to show concern over rebuking the war think critically on issues regarding security.

The Cold War posed adverse effects on both past and current society. The effect was imminent in Russia where the country experienced adverse growth of military where many adults were forced into the forces. The country suffered severe financial crisis compared to Germany and the United States The highest concern of post-Cold War environment is the fact that the war ruined political relationship between the United States and the Soviet. The United States resolved to hold military alliances with fifty states to end the war. Furthermore, the alliances led to massive loss of life of the United States and the Soviet soldiers.[2]

During the post-Cold War years, several interstate incidences such as revolution wars, ethnic wars displaced person, and refugee declined at a sharp rate. However, the conflicts raised during the Cold War raised the urgency of the current society to acquire high level of insurgency since the war created impending social and political tension in the Third World nations. Moreover, the post war environment has caused a concerning condition where Communist governments produced ethnic and civil.

The nuclear legacy is among the concerning post-Cold War issues that should be rebuked by the world. A number of nuclear legacies can be connected to the outcome of the Cold War such as the use of radiation in health institutions, nuclear energy and power. The former super powers have advanced in improving existing delivery systems and nuclear weapons. The strategy has provoked other nations that never thought of manufacturing nuclear weapons to consider developing and testing nuclear-explosive devices. It is now a fact that the world should be worried about radiological and nuclear terrorisms.[3] There is high risk that terrorist will take the advantage of unmonitored development of nuclear material to demand weak and even powerful nations to give into to their terrorism demands or else innocent people would suffer the consequences for noncompliance.

The radiation legacy is also a concerning post-Cold War environment in the sense that non-military and military exploitation may led to unprecedented exposure of high-level of radiation. For instance, the Nagasaki and Hiroshima atomic bombs caused massive destruction through exposure of radiation and fire. Further research reveals that several experiments, production of nuclear weapons, and testing have exposed civilians to radiation.[4]

More concern for campaigning against the post-Cold War environment is the fact that the environment would create potential harm to the international and national security. States that design nuclear weapons are subject to criticism over deploying nuclear weapons up to recent days despite the fact that the Cold War ended some years back. The responsible states run risks of facing accidental, unauthorized, and deliberate use of nuclear weapons.[5] The big issue is the fact that hackers and terrorists would consider taking the advantage of interfering with confidence and stability of nuclear program. Subsequently, the world would have to prepare for serious breach of security that would cause massive injuries or worse of all, loss of innocent lives.

In conclusion, the findings provided by the paper indicate that the existing society should be on the forefront to campaign against the post-Cold war environment with strongest term possible. The world should not be victim of security breach posed by the controversial post-Cold War legacies. The world would also need to worry about military legacy among Soviet nations and the West that have declined to stand down on post-Cold War environment.
